Have you heard about the Kardashev Scale?

Let’s hit directly to the base, the Kardashev Scale tells about the technological level of a civilization based on the amount of energy they can harness.
(Hey buddy don’t get lost, we are even taking the possibility of having other civilizations in this universe or multiverse)

In 1964, Kardashev defined three types of civilization, although as time passed by there were many contributions to the scale & there are more than 4 or 5 types as of today.

They are typically called Type 0, Type 1 and, etc.

Carl Sagan’s modified Kardashev Scale allowed using continuous values which tell us that to reach the very near type 1 civilization we need to harness an amount mathematically equivalent to 10 quadrillion watts (10¹⁶ watts)

If you want to calculate it yourself then use this,
K= [log10(P)-6]/10
For type 1, put K=1 and see.

And presently we are meager type 0.7 & EE pursuers we have a lot to work on and prepare to harness 10¹⁶ watts someday in not so far future.

10¹⁶ watts of energy signifies that we will be utilizing the complete energy of our planet with great efficiency. And when humanity attains a type 2 badge then we will harness the complete energy of our solar system. Similarly, type 3 will be analogous to the energy of galaxy, type 4 for many galaxies, and maybe the universe, type 5 (a.k.a. Omega Civilization) can harness energy from a universe or multiverse.

I know the above statements seem like a plot of ultra sci-fi anime but we never know what’s there in the future for humanity.

Physicist and futurist Michio Kaku suggested that we might reach Type 1 by the end of this century or by next. Type 2 in a few thousand years and type 3 in 1,00,000 to a million years.

Lastly, let’s have some facts!

Fun fact: There might be other civilizations we may meet over the process.
Not so fun fact: We don’t know if a supreme type of civilization will be friendly to us or not.
