Matter matters but what about Anti Matter?

Sounds Interesting right, I know many physics & space enthusiasts would say, “Anti Matter, wow!”

Well, we won’t revise that Matter means everything that is around us having mass! Simple enough, right!

Let’s first meet the scientist who made a boom in classical physics, in 1928, Paul Dirac in interest to combine quantum physics & special theory of relativity to understand the relativistic speed of an electron, wrote a noble prize winning equation which posed a problem.

In simple mathematics let’s just say, x² = 4 will have two solutions, x = (+/-) 2, similarly, Dirac’s equations have two solutions one for +ve energy electron & -ve energy electron.

On the basis of the above analogy, it can be hypothesized that during the Big Bang, the universe should have created 50:50 of matter & anti-matter.

Well, now, we successfully can create anti-matter but the problem lies in the time of its observational existence.

The tricky part, our universe is full of matter. Whenever an anti-matter particle is created it gets annihilated leaving no time to study.

But you know, humans, we find our way! (it’s FUN)

Lastly, Fun Facts:
In 2002, the ALPHA team (CERN) trapped 38 antihydrogen atoms & in 2010, hundreds of them trapped for 15 minutes.
